KKR vs RR, Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals Match Preview, Playing XI, Dream 11 Predictions

With the end of Qualifier 1, the Chennai Super Kings have made it to the finals. Now the Kolkata Knight Riders would be locking horns with the Rajasthan Royals for Qualifier 2 at Eden Gardens.

KKR seem to be favorites for this for a lot of reasons. Better performance in the league stages, big players and of course the fact that Rajasthan will again be missing their in form opener Jos Butler because of his national obligations. And they would have a home advantage as well. This game will be played at KKR’s home ground and it remains a ground where RR are yet to win a game.

KKR have a lot in their favor that can help them seal this one. For example, they had beaten the RR Side convincingly at Eden Gardens this year in the previous clash as they managed to run through the batting order of RR with their effective spin attack. You can expect that, even in the eliminator, KKR’s master plan would be to exploit RR’s evident problems with spin.

On the other hand, KKR’s lineup has been the most flexible one this season.

They don’t  over rely on one person and attack their opponents with their collective team effort. KKR have two players in their squad who have scored 400+ runs. And Naraine, surprisingly, more than 300.

But all is not lost for RR. They can take huge encouragement from their last performance.

In a must win game, without their best batsman for the season, RR out performed the Virat Kohli led side. They have also always performed for the team and this time it should be no different.

Inconsistent throughout the league, they know this is going to be a big game for them.

They’ll be wary of the threat that KKR pose but it’s a knockout game and one can often expect the unexpected.

Moreover, they now know what works at the Gardens. RR have their spin attack too. Gowtham, Gopal and Ish Sodhi all should be playing tomorrow. It will be a huge test for the relatively inexperienced group but should they click the match is in RR’s favour.

Team news:

  • Chawla to come in as the third and leading spinner.
  • No injury updates.

  • Ish Sodhi, Gowtham and Gopal all to be retained.
  • Buttler and Stokes are out because of national duty.

Probable Playing XI

KKR: Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Dinesh Karthik (c&wk), Andre Russell, Nitish Rana, Shubman Gill, Javon Searles, Piyush Chawla, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav

KKR: The theme has been set for tomorrow. With Katic opening up about the possibility of playing 3 spinners it definitely means it will be a game dominated by Spin. So expect Yadav, Chawla and Naraine to be the three key players tomorrow.
